Simon is currently writing 'It Was Just A Thought'... here is an excerpt... we hope you enjoy it.
The Eternal STAR…
Some of us have been lucky enough to meet at least one star over the course of our lives… maybe some would argue this is our kindred spirit, our soul mate … but one day that someone – the star we were so in love with may leave again, to be extinguished from our view… and after a time, that period spent together can seem or become an insignificant moment in the overall(ness) of our total ‘whole lives’; they leave nothing but a shadow of their radiant selves…
But that ‘someone’ may also trip us ‘up’ so intensely… that for the remainder of our existence here on Earth, all of the feelings and the emotions that have driven us to that moment… and the effect of those… completely changes who we are, or more importantly who we were… and begins the process of who we will become.
I was lucky enough to meet that person a few years ago, on a pleasantly sun-filled day in a far-flung corner of our wonderful planet… and she helped to begin that process that has become one of the most significant periods of my life so far.
What eventually became of us as a couple I could have taken as a profoundly negative event, and I have to confess in the beginning that was my perception… but it was then I realised it’s always up to us to decide in our own mind how we wish to view anything we experience, and in our own way to move beyond it… we can allow the dross of emotion we might have let float on each of our days to clear… emotions that I had allowed to drive me for so long… emotions created by my perceptions from the moment I was born into this world… perceptions that eventually created the fall that contaminated who we could have been together.
So I used the experiences of those feelings, the emotions they created, like a big scoop to skim away many of my old perceptions and reveal more of the purity of who I really am.
We are all driven by the complexity of the perceptions of our past, and I know if this wonderful ‘someone’, this radiant star had come to me in another time and space, then the outcome of us would have been very different…
We must always thank and be grateful to all those who come into our lives because each of us are there to show and to teach everyone (of us) something profound about who we really are.
It is at these times, these crossroads we are reminded that whatever happens to us, that it is only ‘ourselves’ who can at any moment decide which way to step, one that either continues at the same pace, or towards one that becomes the elevator – that is the process of growth towards remembering the real ‘us’, who we really are without the fog of the past (self) opinions of who we think we are.
Perhaps like me you may be taking these steps already, I know some of you are because I have seen you with me on the journey, some of you have passed me and I am following your lead, your inspirations… but also like me, you may have yet to discover ultimately who you truly are… but I’m damn sure about one thing… I’m not who I was, even yesterday… and it is that wonderful ‘someone’, that radiant star to whom I will be eternally grateful for coming to me and setting me on this particular expedition that has become this phase of my life.
