‘To see the world in a grain of sand,
And heaven in a wild flower,
Hold infinity in the palm of your hand,
And eternity in an hour.’
William Blake
That was written by the poet William Blake, he was also an artist and a mystic. The words in that short piece have always inspired a great part of me… because they describe so vividly the power we all have and that is our imagination.
An astronomer, staring into the vastness of the Universe, probing what was once a present moment, studying the evolution of worlds and looking into the remote future uses this power of course, and it is to all we owe that makes life worth living… our imagination… for everything we see and experience has begun as a thought created my our imaginings.
Your imagination is an inherent part of you, remember when you were younger, it was that play-time world we inhabited, that place for dreams and great ambitions. But as adults we allow our imaginations to be overshadowed by what we feel surrounds us, routine, the opinion of others and perception from past experiences. These all warp and suppress the wonderful free-play of our brilliant minds to imagine.
So… today make it your mission and every day, to recapture that power latent and burning to breakout; rediscover the power you have, your imaginary self, and your life will again become one full of wonder, mystery, beauty and joy.
